Question: What does MLS stand for?

Answer: It stand for Multiple Listing Service In short, it is a database of all the homes for sale in your community.

Question: How do I get my home listed on the MLS?

Answer: You need to go through a real estate agent. and sign a listing agreement. If you already have a real estate agent handling the sale of your home then they'll make sure it gets on the MLS.

Question: Whose contact information is on the MLS?

Answer: Generally, the agent that adds the MLS is the one whose contact information is listed. Sometimes, if you are selling your own home, your information is listed too.

Question: How do I get a photo on the MLS?

Question: If I'm selling my own home and get it listed on the MLS, can I still put a For Sale by Owner sign in my yard.

Answer: In several states, including New Mexico, if you get listed on the MLS, you cannot put a For Sale by Owner sign in your yard. Your listing agent can provide a sign for you.

Answer: If you have to change your listing, you need to contact your listing agent and provide him/her with the information you need updated.
